## What FastGST Does

FastGST provides a centralized, continuously updated GST Tax Lookup REST API. It aggregates publicly available GST data from CBIC and GST Council notifications into a single developer-friendly API. Key capabilities:

- **Fuzzy Search**: Search HSN/SAC codes by product or service keywords (e.g., "mobile phone", "consulting")
- **Code Lookup**: Get detailed classification hierarchy for any HSN (8-digit) or SAC (6-digit) code
- **Tax Rate Retrieval**: Get GST tax rates (5%, 12%, 18%, 28%) and compensation cess for any HSN/SAC code
- **Hierarchy Traversal**: Navigate chapter → heading → sub-heading → tariff item classification trees
